When the Tree of Life was bearing its first fruits and magic was still in its infancy, raw and unfettered, Talents of The Art performed unspeakable summonings. Reaching deep into the unknown, they tore both gods and demons from their home worlds to be tethered and used like mules and oxen. This arrogance by The Talents finally lead to a great rebellion by The Summoned. They sought revenge for the injustice they suffered and ravaged the land, seeking to devour all of humanity. Realizing their great aberration, the remaining Talents, those who weren't ripped apart by the initial onslaught, banded together and performed The Ritual of B'sod. Sacrificing their lives to mend the wound they've caused, they repelled The Summoned and sent them back to the netherworld. Yet the most powerful of the demons, The Bereft, they could not send back. Using the last of their lifeblood, they quartered his body and sealed him into four separate tombs. These were buried and the veracity of these events were long made into legend. But the wards have weakened over the countless millennia and the ancient magic that once held back the savage raw energy is failing. Witness! For there is naught else to do.
