Here is the straight dish on the O-matic Awesome series designed by me. I have been riding snowboards for a long-ass time. When I designed the Awesome I wanted a board that would perform on all the terrain that I love to ride, which is basically everything. I wanted a board that I could get off the lift, rail through the flats, ollie over some random stumps, slash some pow, drop a rock, slide a fun box, point it into a 50 foot kicker, rail across the park to some random rail, drop into the pipe, then butter the flats on the way back to the lift. (based on one of my favorite runs at Northstar Resort). I made a board that is on the medium soft side of the spectrum so that it is easy to whip around the hill and is very forgiving in all situations. The awesome has an intelligent flex, that means it is soft where you need it to be, and poppy where needed. It’s my Swiss Army snowboard, everything I need in one neat, tight package wrapped in P-tex. Todd.

We are stoked to welcome our latest Swedish acquisition Hampus Mosesson to the team. Not only do we appreciate fine furnishings from Ikea, gourmet meatballs, the chef from the Muppets and little red gummy fish but also Scandinavian super rippers like Hampus. Unless you have been hiding under your Klippan couch, chowing pickled herrings and downing shots of Brännvin, you may have noticed that Hampus tears it up like a 16 year old on a snowy road driving Mom’s Volvo. With this in mind, X-Beam™ carbon/kevlar construction, Clevercore™ wood technology and a Triaxial™ glass were chosen as standards for Hampus’ first board on O-Matic. Graphically Hampus wanted something reflective of his love of shred road trips and the gritty living that inevitably follows. He came up with a bunch of awesome bumper sticker ideas to go on the back of his Volvo station wagon and the final result is, well...sweet!

The Celebrity is Louie. From his rise out of the Midwest to the top of the snowboarding world, Louie is blowing up. Whether it be throwing super smooth back-to-back nines in the pipe, hanging out with the playgirl bunnies, or making party with the snap of his gold laden fingers, Louie is a true mover-and-shaker. For his first ever pro model, Louie wanted something a little special so we threw down for some stabilising VertWall™, X-Beam™ carbon/kevlar and a floaty CleverCore™ wood profile. Graphically, Louie wanted something true to his roots and reflective of his fresh style so we mixed the grandmaster-flashery of old school house party flyers, with a new school faux-real luxury gloss print. The result feels like party and tastes like success. Boo-yah!

Сноуборд O-Matic Super 2008/2009

The board I designed is exactly what I like to ride. Narrow enough to have quick edge-to-edge control but wide enough to give you some solid landing gear. The 149 super is my all around jib and jumping board. If the snow is a little deeper I step up the size. All sizes in the Super series have a good flex for pressing nose and tail with quick response to get your ollie contest on. It is lightweight so you can hop around and even though it’s a 149 the boys can still get their 24/25 inch stance on it. I know a lot of boys ride it because of its light-weight super pressing abilities even though I really did design it with girls in mind. A lot of park boards can be a bit chattery, but this board really does have the capability to press, jib, jump and lay down some sweet g-turns. Have a great season and if I see you on an O-matic I’ll be sure to throw ya a high five. I love seeing our boards out there...it simply makes my day super! Tara.
